Share 1: We heard from respondents to the first survey that a new name for "shelter" should be tied into a new service model.
This work is underway. The City is working to significantly expand the number of shelter beds available to meet community needs. Simultaneously, it is looking at enhancing services and improving the design guidelines that will inform each new shelter construction or renovation. The City is also building on existing best practices to support greater consistency in the quality and range of services offered across the shelter system. This work includes collaborations with Toronto's Local Health Integration Networks (LHINs) to ensure effective health service delivery to shelter residents. |
